The SEC: Yesterday and Today 7 | Mike Loveall, Last Word On Sports

The year 1992 is Bird’s (@Autull) focus in the opening segment of the seventh podcast in The SEC: Yesterday and Today series. He takes a long look at that year, 25 years ago, in college football history. Conference champions, the national Champion, statistical leaders, milestones, and other interesting tidbits are examined and expanded upon in this look into the yesterday of college football.

Mike Loveall (@MikeL_LWOS) then joins Bird and the two share their impressions of their team’s, Tennessee and Auburn, painful losses to South Carolina and LSU, respectively.

Mike then examines the historical significance of the Third Saturday in October, its deep roots in college football culture, and a few of the games in that rivalry between the University of Alabama Crimson Tide and the University of Tennessee Volunteers.

Mike also shares his most joyous and painful memories of this series from the perspective of a Tennessee fan.

Bird and Mike conclude the show, per usual, with predictions on Saturday’s games.

The podcast is, as always, packed with interesting and pertinent information on the sport we all love.
